It's the way we think, act, speak, and love one another. It's in the way we raise our families, love our community, and seek the good of others before ourselves. Here's what makes ACL unique.
Jesus Christ is at the center of everything. We believe that Jesus is the only way to heaven. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life. We believe that Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.
We believe that the Bible is God’s infallible Word. It is accurate, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives. In it, we have everything we need for life and godliness. God’s word is the only word!
We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. We are born in sin and shaped in inequity because of our first father Adam, and through his fall, we all inherited the curse of death and eternal separation from God.
According to John chapter 1, God robed Himself in flesh and came to earth as a man named Jesus, as our redeemer. Jesus lived a perfect life, then died on the cross on our behalf as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. In order to receive forgiveness and a fresh start with God, we must repent of our sins, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ (no other name is given under heaven, whereby we must be saved), and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost according to Acts chapter 2.
But isn’t believing enough?
In Acts 19, Paul asked those present if they had received the Holy Ghost since they’ve believed? This indicates that believing only isn’t enough, but we need to be filled with his Spirit. Jesus himself told Nicodemus in John chapter 3 that in order to see heaven, you must be born of the water AND of the spirit.
We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together as we are instructed to in the Scriptures. The church is where we have a family of families, living in obedience to Christ. We do this by learning from His word, singing praises to Him, and praying with and for each other, bearing one another's burdens.
